BRICS is the grouping of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. Previously known as BRIC with the exclusion of South Africa, which was introduced to the formation in 2009.
South African BRICS Youth Association (SABYA) is a non-profit organization located in South Africa, Pretoria. Which seeks to provide South African and African youth of different races, backgrounds, and disciplines a platform to meaningfully engage on intra-BRICS issues and usher in a youth perspective on critical issues affecting young people in particular. We seek to maximize youth participation in BRICS and other international engagements such as the G20, Euro-BRICS, United Nations, and International youth forums.
Call for Participants: BRICS Youth Virtual Round Table
The South African BRICS Youth Association (SABYA) would like to invite interested young activists, leaders, researchers and entrepreneurs from all five BRICS nations to participate in the BRICS Youth Virtual Round Table.
- Date: Saturday, 26 June 2021
- Time: 13:00-16:00 Southern African Standard Time (GMT+2)
Up to 10 selected participants from each BRICS nation will be invited to participate in the Round Table along with their peers to discuss “Prioritizing Youth Empowerment in the BRICS Post-Pandemic Recovery Strategy.” The outcomes and recommendations from the BRICS Youth Round Table deliberations will form part of SABYA’s submissions to the 2021 Civil BRICS Forum. All participants will be personally recognized for their contributions.
